JANUARY NEWS FROM IRON SPRINGS PUB & BREWERY
2009 is now in the books!
It was a great year, here are some of the highlights:
We broke the 1000 barrel mark in brew house production {a huge endeavor for a town our size}
We rolled out our line of bottled beers. The Kent Lake Kolsch, Epiphany Amber Ale, Casey Jones Imperial IPA, & Sless’ Oatmeal Stout. You can now find Iron Springs in a bottle in many of your favorite local beer markets as well as at the pub.
Mike & Anne experienced the birth of their second son, Aaron Isaac Altman!
The new Meyer house sound system was completed and is working out superbly. We are confident that for our type of restaurant/brewpub, we have one of the best sound systems in all of Marin!
Business remained steady through one of the worst economic climates of our generation. We are satisfied with that – now we are hoping to see some exciting growth in 2010!

BREWERY NEWS
As we mentioned above, 2009 was an exciting year in the brewery. Now we have some exciting and lofty goals for 2010! We hope you will see more of our bottled beer out in the marketplace! With any luck, we’ll add a couple more styles to our line as well – keep your fingers crossed.
We are also working on a very special, limited release in 750 ml corked bottles of a special Chazz Cat Rye that has been aging in a Dasche Zinfandel French Oak Barrel, innoculated with brettanomyces, then infused with fuyu persimmons. This is a Christian Kazakoff specialty that you won’t want to miss. We will only have about 20 cases of this special beer, which we are calling Rye the Funk Not? We are working on a wonderful label with artwork by our own Prairie Skye – our in house artist and manager extraordinaire.
In January, look for the release of the ever-popular Black Lager – the Dark Path Lager. This should be released in the next week or two. Look for the actual release date posted on our Facebook page.
KITCHEN TALK
Chef Luis and his crew are up to it again with some great things happening in the kitchen. Here’s some new items:
We added a new veggie sandwich to our menu – roasted veggies and a jabanero aioli – yum!
We added a new option for kids – penne pasta with English peas and Alfredo sauce.
We will now be using homemade chips with our dishes, including nachos.
GIVE BACK TUESDAY
Now in its second full year, the Give Back Tuesday program has donated more than $30,000 to such great causes as
The YES Foundation
Drake High Mt. Bike Team
Marin Community Food Bank
Bread & Roses
Adopt-a-Family of Marin
Point Reyes Seashore Association
Conservation Corps North Bay
10% of sales on every Tuesday in January goes to the YES Foundation, supporting the local Ross Valley School District and funding programs such as music, art, and PE. Especially with the state of the California budget, work that the YES Foundation does is even more critical to our schools.
You can learn more about the YES foundation at www.yestokids.org. Come on out and support the YES Foundation!
