Kent Lake Kolsch

Our rendition of this classic from Cologne is brewed with all German ingredients. This light and crisp ale holds many characteristics of a lager; tangy and tart notes. Brewed with the water from our local Kent Lake.

Hops: Tettnang, Hallertau

Grain Bill: German Pilsner, German Wheat, Vienna, Munich, Acidulated

Chazz Cat Rye

Give Back Tuesdays in January

All of our Tuesdays in January benefit the YES Foundation.

The YES Foundation funds and is an advocate for high-quality, inspiring, engaging arts and other educational programs for the students of the Ross Valley School District. YES is a collaboration of parents, teachers, administrators, and community members dedicated to:
Securing the financial resources necessary to bridge the gap between available governmental educational funding and the funding necessary to provide educational opportunities so that all children have the chance to be inspired and to excel.
Working collaboratively with the district to identify program needs, set program priorities, and develop excellent programs.»

December Give Back Tuesday Recipients

We have two groups this month – Dec 7 and Dec 14 – and then we’re going on vacation until January.

December 7 – DayCaring Preschool

DayCaring is a family oriented, child centered preschool located in Fairfax, California. Our atmosphere is one in which each child is accepted for himself or herself, a place where we help each child develop at his or her own way at their own pace.

December 14th – San Geronimo Valley Community Center

Their mission is “To foster a healthy San Geronimo Valley by providing a dynamic center for locally-based human services, arts and culture, education, health and wellness, and community building.”  Their Food Pantry is a non-judgmental user friendly place which serves over 300 families a month.»

Black Magic Rye P.A.

A full bodied and very aromatic pitch black IPA style beer brewed with over a hundred pounds of chocolate rye malt. Don’t let the color fool you, this is IPA all the way. Up front citrus hops in the flavor and aroma with a lingering light hop and toasted rye finish.
Hops: Simcoe, Citra, & Amarillo ABV: 8% O.G.: 1.075
Grain Bill: Crisp 2-row, Chocolate Rye, and Carafa III
Food Pairings: Cheese Burgers, Chicken Mole, and Nacho’s

Dark Path Lager

A German style Shwarzbier, or “Black Beer.” Dark Path has an opaque, black color with a full roasted chocolate flavor that finishes very clean.

A traditional 4.7% ABV German Session Amber Ale brewed with Pilsner and Vienna malts and hopped with Halletaur.

Oktoberfest:

A clean and and light hopped 7% Märzen-style lager brewed with German Pilsner and Munich Malts.

attributed to the slight addition of acidulated malt.
Hops: Tettnang, Hallertau Abv: 4.5%  O.G.: 1.050
Grain Bill: German Pilsner, German Wheat, Vienna, Munich, Acidulated
Food Pairings: Fish Tacos, Tuna Tartar, Herb Chicken, Caesar Salads

September Newsletter from Iron Springs Pub and Brewery

BREWERY NEWS:

The release of our 500th batch was a huge success!  So much so that all the logo glasses as well as the beer are almost all gone. August was a great beer drinking month at Iron Springs.

New beer releases:

Helles Angels Lager

This is a classic German Helles (pronounced “hell-us”) Lager.  Light, crisp, & refreshing & one of the only few true lagers we ever get to do at Iron Springs. Brewed entirely with imported malts and Czech Saaz Hops.  ABV: 4.7%  Food Pairings: Salads, Pastas, Seafood Tacos, & Spicy Sausages

Oktoberfest

Another classic German lager we get to produce once a year to coincide with the start of Oktoberfest in Germany in late September.  The Iron Springs Oktoberfest will be released on Thursday September 23rd – the first day of Autumn.  Chef Luis and his team will be preparing numerous German dinner specials to go along with the festivities.»

Our upcoming Give Back Tuesday recipients include:

September 14: ForWords

Established in 2007, ForWords is a literacy and publication project for students in the San Rafael, California “Canal” area. Their students have been historically under-served, are generally from immigrant families, and are often learning English as a second language.  ForWords provides a variety of resources to help these students develop the ability to write effectively, and have their work published, whether poetry, fiction, music, drama, essays, or non-fiction.  ForWords has provided training and mentoring for local teachers, has purchased computers, software, cameras, and other material, developed and implemented 21st century curricula, hired the world-renown University of California Bay Area Writing Project to work directly with our students and local teachers, and hired a talented digital-arts teacher.»
