May Give Back Tuesdays

Each Tuesday we are thrilled to donate 10% to local groups working to support our community.   For more information, or to nominate a group, please contact anne@ironspringspub.com.

In May we will be supporting the YES Foundation, which provides support to the Ross Valley School District for programs like art, library, and music that otherwise wouldn’t have enough funding.  Find out more at www.yestokids.org.  We also have three special YES nights in May:

Lorin Rowan’s Rattlebox Featuring Barry Sless & Doug Harman

Lorin Rowan, Doug Harman, & Barry Sless return to Iron Springs!  The music of ‘Rattlebox’ features Lorin Rowan’s finger pickin’ acoustic roots/Americana in folk/rock and world music, complementing his clear tenor vocal, backed by fellow musicians; Barry Sless, steel guitar extraordinaire, from the David Nelson Band,Phil Lesh & Friends and Moonalice; and cellist virtuoso, Doug Harman (Norton Buffalo, Alex DeGrassi,Susan Cianni) . The combination of these musicians and their unique instrumentation, together create a fresh, exciting sound with powerful melodies and intriguing lyrics, as well as acoustic ‘jam band’ interludes

The April Grisman/Michael LaMacchia Project (AMP) is coming back to Fairfax for a very special evening at The Iron Springs!  The band features April Grisman, Michael LaMacchia, Jim Bove, and Rob Fordyce.  This is the coming together of two well known and respected artists from the very talented Marin County music scene.»

Kurt Huget & Friends

Guitarist/singer/songwriter is a longtime Marin County performer. He has performed and recorded with members of legendary bands Jefferson Airplane/Starship, Sopwith Camel, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Elvin Bishop, Steve Miller, and many more. He has also co-written songs and recorded with Robert Hunter from The Grateful Dead.
Dave Getz is a founding member of Big Brother & The Holding Company, with Janis Joplin, and a long-time Fairfax resident.
Bassist Pat Campbell played and recorded with Jerry Garcia’s “Good Old Boys” band, as well as The New Riders of the Purple Sage, Mike Bloomfield, Big Joe Turner, and dozens of other greats.»

IT’S CHOCOLATE BEER MONTH

February is Chocolate Beer Month at Iron Springs. Come in each week for a new chocolate release, paired with some amazing specials from the kitchen on the night of the release. These beers go fast and you’ll want to try them all.

Friday February 3rd – Chocolate Dark Path Lager and Oaxacan Chocolate Chicken Mole

Friday February 10th – Coco Anne Marie’s Amber and Nib Braised Australian Lamb

Marcus Sears – Sales Representative

I grew up outside Ithaca, New York. Ithaca Beer Company was always a favorite once I reached drinking age, along with good ol’ Genesee Cream Ale AKA “Genny Cream”. After college, I decided I needed to move to San Francisco and embrace myself in a cultural area and try not to blow it and fail. Somehow I’m still here and in that time I discovered the greatness of local craft beer. Living in the mission at age 23 will do that. Years later after a stint in the corporate sales world chasing them dolla’ signs, I decided I wanted to go after a career in the craft brewing industry.»

They strive to inspire citizens to take action on issues such as Climate Change, Toxics, Zero Waste, Food, Water, and other sustainability topics.
