Jon Chi and Friends
November 7, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm
One event on May 1, 2019 at 8:00 pm
Jon Chi is a songwriter and guitarist from Marin County, CA. Honest Tune Magazine describes his original songs as “musical magic”. Jon’s songs feature lush instrumental arrangements and lyrical themes including mortality, struggle, and redemption. Jon has had the good fortune of collaborating with artists such as Mickey Hart from the Grateful Dead, Dave Schools of Widespread Panic, and legendary ska-jazz guitarist Ernest Ranglin. On November 7 at Iron Springs, Jon will join forces with three longtime collaborators and stellar Bay Area musicians: John-Paul McLean, Jordan Feinstein and Jeremy Hoenig. The music will feature Jon’s original songs, choice covers, 3-part harmonies, and ample group improv. John-Paul McLean, bassist for Melvin Seals and JGB, brings a distinct mixture of rock solid foundation and lyrical bass lines along with stellar harmony singing. Jordan Feintstein has taken his improvisational talents and distinctive vocal stylings to Bay Area stages for over 20 years. He’s played with a who’s who in the SF jam scene and beyond – Phil Lesh, ALO, G Love, and George Porter to name a few. Jeremy Hoenig is an in-demand Bay Area drummer appearing frequently at Terrapin Crossroads and with the band Tracorum. Jeremy has toured the world with different artists including delSol.
