:North Bay Trout Unlimited is a non-profit local chapter of Trout Unlimited (TU), which has over 100,000 members nationwide. They are dedicated to conserving, protecting, and restoring trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds. This chapter, representing over 900 members, is based here in Marin County and includes Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo Counties. Here in Marin County, together with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife they directly assist over 80 elementary school classrooms with watershed science education through the Trout in the Classroom program. In addition, they introduce youth to fly fishing through our First Cast program; and provide recreational fishing outings to disabled veterans and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. In addition NBTU has a long history of conservation work in Marin County watersheds, dating back to the 1980’s. They are currently focusing on two key creeks supporting threatened steelhead and coho, Devil’s Gulch and Redwood Creek. For more information check out http://www.nbtu.org.
